AA Didn’t Stop the Fire: Braves 3, Diad 5

Luis Arraez, Ozhaino Albies,
Freddie Freeman, Max Kepler, Miguel Sano

Brian Snitker, Rick Kranitz, Mark Melancon
Minnesota, Mississippi and Jake O

Chris Martin, Twins blown save, come back,
getting beat, take your seat, this sure isn’t fun

Ender Inciarte, Johan Camargo,
and Adam Duvall no hits, ending on a Twins home run

AA didn’t stop the fire
It still is burning
and the pen door’s turning
AA didn’t stop the fire
He let somebody light it
But we tried to fight it

Mike Soroka, he looked okay
hard to win when you only score 3

Record working on LOB

One more late loss, is this the team we have to see?

We want Dansby. Brooklyn doesn’t have a team

Is it really climate change, relievers only fan the flames, Charlie Clutch couldn’t save this bunch.

Baseballs flying into space, TWins on the attack, “without controlling the HVAC?”, make you lose your lunch.

AA didn’t stop the fire
It still is burning
and the pen door’s turning
AA didn’t stop the fire
He let somebody light it
But we tried to fight it

Ron Gant, safe we know, how big was ump’s pile of dough?
Had a baggie in right field. Why is it a horse can’t eat?

Noah’s Ark, Paisley Park, why are Braves the team to beat?

Gausman’s gone, Folty’s up
tonight after sup, Little Red Corvette

Bullpen’s still a mess, no more trades to confess
With these flaky Braves, hold on tight to your bet.

AA didn’t stop the fire
It still is burning
and the pen door’s turning
AA didn’t stop the fire
He let somebody light it
But we tried to fight it

AA didn’t stop the fire
It still is burning
and the pen door’s turning
AA didn’t stop the fire
He let somebody light it
But we tried to fight it

  1. @ 3 coop,

I grew up in a country music area in a rock / funk generation. I will try to pick a country standard with a connection the next time I use one.

Actually, my tiny home town used to have a stop on the country tours and they had George and many others about once every month or sometimes even a little more often. I saw Ray Stevens with the Masters Five there.

  2. I too loathe Billy Joel but thanks to Cliff’s usual brilliance I thoroughly enjoyed the recap.

  3. I don’t hate Billy Joel. Otoh, my son sent me the link to the song Manic Monday by the Bangles yesterday as a joke. That has to be one of the top 10 worst songs ever to hit the airwaves. Funny thing is it was written by Prince under the pseudonym Christopher. I can’t imagine any losing streak bad enough to be subjected to that song.

  4. So we get to find out if Folty is really back to his old ways tonight or if his Triple A success was just a mirage. Either way, it’s more upside than Gausman’s 2 pitch arsenal.

  5. Apparently we picked up Lucas Duda again and will stash him in the minors for depth. His .576 ops is impressive.

  6. Braves front office sings this song
    Lucas Duda
Don’t cost much so can’t go wrong
    Sign Duda to-day

  7. John R

‘Don’t go changing to try and please me’

‘I’m taking a Greyhound down the Hudson River Line’

‘I’ll meet you any time you want, in our Italian Restaurant’.

‘You may be right but you may be wrong’.

Good, try reversing the order of the first two words in your last line. Reads better.
