Braves 5, Cardinals 1

More strong pitching — four shutout innings — from John Thomson, and homers from Andruw, Mondesi, and Furcal were enough to break the losing streak. All the Braves’ runs came in the first three innings; the Cards’ came in the ninth, as the game ended with the bases loaded.

And that’s all I can say, because they can’t get the fricking box scores up two hours after the game ended. I don’t even know who gave up the run.

  1. Kevin Barry pitched the 9th and gave up the run. Buddy Hernandez and Roman Colon also pitched. Edmonds, Rolen, and Walker (iirc) didn’t play for the Cards.

  2. I’ll have to admit I have been a Buddy Hernandez skeptic, but his stats look good thus far. With Grybo appearing to be on the mend, maybe Buddy gets some northern exposure.
